Burdigala Homes – Appart Montesquieu Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Burdigala Homes – Appart Montesquieu on Rue Montesquieu, you immediately get that “I’m in the real Bordeaux” feeling. This four-star property sits right in the city center, and I mean really in the heart of things — not one of those places that claims to be central but actually requires a 20-minute walk to anywhere interesting. The building has that classic French elegance without being stuffy, you know what I mean?
Location That Actually Delivers
Honestly, the location score of 10.0 isn’t just marketing fluff — couples are rating it a perfect 10 for good reason. You’re literally steps away from Place Gambetta and the Grand Théâtre, and the tram stops are so close you’ll barely need them for getting around the center. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to those amazing wine bars along Cours de l’Intendance in about three minutes. The neighborhood has that perfect mix where you’ve got tourists during the day but it doesn’t feel like a theme park at night.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment setup here is what sets this place apart from your typical hotel stay. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen — and I actually used it, which says something since I’m usually too lazy to cook while traveling. The room layouts are thoughtfully designed, giving you space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s closet. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and French character, though honestly, you’ll probably spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.
Practical Perks
What really worked for me was having that kitchen space for morning coffee and picking up fresh pastries from the boulangerie around the corner. Parking in this part of Bordeaux can be a nightmare, but they’ve got options sorted if you’re driving — though I’d honestly recommend just flying in and walking everywhere. The staff knows the area well and gave me some solid recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. Little things like having proper Wi-Fi and enough outlets for all your devices might sound basic, but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Bordeaux, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You get the independence of an apartment rental with the reliability of a proper hotel operation. The location really is unbeatable — I could walk to dinner, grab wine for later, and still be back in time to catch the sunset from my window. For couples especially, there’s something nice about having your own space to decompress between all that wine tasting and wandering. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re living in Bordeaux for a few days rather than just passing through.

Excellent location, very well appointed and spacious apartment, with an amazing balcony/roof terrace. Plenty of options for food and drink in the immediate area, and many more within a short walk. The closest metro station is around a 5-10 minute walk, providing easy access to the rest of the city.
Noud from Netherlands (9/10)
The flat was better than expected! After taking the elevator 3 floors up and walking up a flight of stairs, we discovered our last floor flat with so much charm and character. From the get go, Jean-Christophe was so easy to communicate with, and he saved us on a public holiday when we locked the keys into the flat. I never felt so supported by a host! The location of the flat is the cherry on the cake!!

The location is fantastic with restaurants, shops and tourists sights within a few minutes walk. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and very clean. The owner was welcoming, met us at check in and gave us suggestions for restaurants etc. The parking is very easy 2 minutes walk away and costs 20 Euro a day.
