Here’s what I love about this spot in Bordeaux — you’re literally in the heart of everything, but on a quieter street that locals actually use. The Chai des Farines area is where you’ll find actual Bordelais grabbing their morning coffee, not just tourists with maps. You can walk to Place de la Bourse in about eight minutes (I timed it), and the wine bars along Rue des Piliers de Tutelle are practically around the corner. The couples who stay here really get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these narrow streets without feeling like you’re in a theme park.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve clearly put effort into making every square meter count. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a three-star place, and the bathroom, while small, had excellent water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of wine tasting). What really impressed me was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, decent WiFi, and little touches like local artwork on the walls. The windows open onto either the street or a quiet courtyard, and both options have their charm.

Dining & Atmosphere

There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, that’s not why you’re staying here. The breakfast setup is simple but well-executed — fresh pastries from a local bakery, proper coffee, and the kind of jam that makes you want to ask where they source it. The real magic happens in the common areas, though. The lobby has this relaxed energy where guests actually chat with each other, and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping you discover their city rather than just checking boxes.

  Property had everything you needed and was in an excellent location. Very close to a carré four city, Boulanger, tram and excellent restaurants and cafes. We arrived early and arranged to leave our bags at the apartment free of charge so we could ou le explore the neighborhood. Anthony was excellent.

  The location is perfect, property is small but well maintained, one comfortable double bed and one sofa bed separated by a wooden screen. Decent shower. A few stairs to climb to get there but couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay in Bordeaux.

  This was a lovely place to stop. There was a secure courtyard in which to lock our bicycles and the property is superbly situated to enjoy the delights of Bordeaux. The property is a UNESCO World Heritage Site so it cannot be modified. It is comfortable but small and rather cramped – a bed sit really and situated up three flights of stairs.
  
  However, everything works and it is very cute. Overall, it was a great place to stay, very close to the centre of Bordeaux, right by the quais.
