Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Bord’ôappart Le Cheverus? The building itself – it’s tucked into this gorgeous old Bordeaux townhouse on rue de Cheverus, and honestly, you could walk right past it if you weren’t looking. But that’s actually part of the charm. The neighborhood feels properly Bordelais, not touristy at all, with those classic cream-colored facades and wrought-iron balconies everywhere you look. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Place Gambetta (which, let’s be honest, is where all the good stuff happens anyway), but it feels like you’ve discovered some local secret.

The apartments themselves are what really won me over though. They’ve managed to keep all the period details – I’m talking original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a 19th-century building, high ceilings with those ornate moldings, tall windows that actually open properly. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too, which matters when you want to grab fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner and make yourself a proper breakfast. Speaking of which, there’s this little market on Saturday mornings just down on Cours de l’Intendance where locals do their shopping – totally worth the early wake-up call. The staff here seem to genuinely know the area; when I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just rattle off the usual tourist traps but actually suggested this incredible little bistro on rue Pas-Saint-Georges that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels like staying in someone’s well-appointed pied-à-terre rather than a hotel room. The design is sort of sophisticated-minimalist without being cold – think neutral tones, quality linens, modern bathrooms that actually have decent water pressure. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town (welcome to central Bordeaux), but they’ll help you figure out the closest options, and honestly, once you’re settled in, everything’s walkable anyway. The tram line’s close enough to hear occasionally, but it’s not disruptive – more like gentle urban white noise. I stayed here during autumn when the city gets those beautiful misty mornings, and there’s something about making coffee in your little kitchen while watching Bordeaux wake up through those tall windows that just feels right. For a 4-star place, the 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely comfortable and perfectly located for actually experiencing the city like you live there.

Visitors often choose Bordeaux’s apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent wine capital.

Location excellent- right in the center, close to tourist attractions and shops. Well equipped kitchen, including dishwasher and latest cooking facilities. Upstairs bedroom very nice, other bedrooms OK. Washing machine in apartment for us to use.
'Outside' patio a bit hemmed in by the building, but fine to use with mosquito repellent!
