You know what struck me first about this place on Rue Boulan? It’s actually quiet – which honestly surprised me since you’re smack in the heart of Bordeaux’s city center. I mean, you can walk to Place de la Comédie in about eight minutes, but somehow this little street feels tucked away from all the tourist chaos. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux stone facade that photographs beautifully, though the entrance is pretty understated – I almost walked past it the first time.

The apartment lives up to its “beautiful” billing, though I’d call it more stylishly comfortable than Instagram-perfect. The windows are huge (typical for this part of the city) and let in amazing light, especially in the morning when the sun hits just right. What I really appreciated was how thoughtfully it’s set up – there’s actual counter space in the kitchen, decent water pressure in the shower, and the Wi-Fi actually works well enough for video calls. The owner clearly gets what travelers need because there are charging stations everywhere, proper blackout curtains, and even a decent coffee setup. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle around here – the nearby streets are mostly resident-only, but there’s a public garage about a five-minute walk away that’s not too expensive by French standards.

Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. You’re close enough to hear the trams rumble by (but not so close that it’s annoying), and you can stumble back from the wine bars along Cours de l’Intendance without needing a taxi. The Saturday market at Marché des Capucins is maybe a fifteen-minute walk, and if you’re into the whole Bordeaux wine scene, some of the best tasting rooms are literally around the corner. I loved being able to grab fresh bread from the boulangerie downstairs – yes, there’s actually a proper bakery in the same building, which feels almost too perfect to be real. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury-hotel polished, but it has character and everything works like it should. Plus, the price point feels fair for what you get in this part of the city, especially during peak season when everything else gets ridiculously expensive.

  This apartment was perfect for our group of 2 couples. The location was right in the city center and walkable to all the downtown sights and restaurants. The apartment is beautifully appointed with large bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved having closets and washer/dryer as well.

  We enjoyed our stay very much. Stephanie and Ousmanne were very accommodating in helping us with some specifics requirements we had. The apartment itself was spacious (We were a group of 5 adults and a toddler), clean and in a very good location if you plan on walking around Bordeaux town.
