Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to 57 Cours d’Albret – it’s one of those elegant Bordeaux streets that looks a bit intimidating from the outside, all that classic stone architecture and perfectly manicured trees. But this apartment totally surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has that timeless French charm you can’t fake, and once you’re inside, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special. The private terrace is what really sold me though – I mean, how often do you find actual outdoor space in the heart of Bordeaux that doesn’t cost a fortune?
What I love about this place is how it sits right in the sweet spot between tourist central and real Bordeaux life. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Place Gambetta (which, let’s be honest, is where you want to be for shopping and people-watching), but Cours d’Albret itself stays surprisingly quiet, especially in the evenings. The apartment feels properly lived-in rather than sterile – you know what I mean? There’s actual character here, not just IKEA furniture and white walls. The terrace becomes your little sanctuary, especially if you grab some wine from that tiny cave just around the corner on Rue Judaïque. I spent way too many mornings out there with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. The setup works really well for couples or even solo travelers who want space to spread out – though I’d say it’s probably not ideal if you’re traveling with kids since the layout is more sophisticated than family-friendly.
The location really can’t be beat if you want to explore Bordeaux properly. You’re close enough to walk to the cathedral and all the main sights, but you’re also in a neighborhood where actual Bordelais live and work. There’s a fantastic little bakery two blocks down that locals line up at every morning – the kind of place you’d never find if you stayed near the train station. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to French city centers), but there’s usually street parking available if you’re patient, and honestly, you won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury-hotel perfect, but it’s got that authentic French apartment vibe that’s actually way better than staying in some generic hotel chain. Just don’t expect brand-new everything or concierge service. What you get instead is a real taste of what it’s like to actually live in Bordeaux for a few days, terrace wine sessions included.

The bed, although actually it is a couch, it was one of the most relaxing places I ever slept! Pillows were great as well. I also liked that they had curtains and totally could black out the room and sleep well. Coffee pods were available in a nespresso machine, while all amenities for those who cook and eat are provided (I havent cooked, but it has everything). Also large and abundant wardrobes to leave your stuff.

Sehr zentrale Lage
Appartment anscheinend frisch renoviert, moderne Einrichtung, sauber
Kleine aber nette Terrasse mitten in der Stadt, auch wenn sie durch die sehr hohen eingrenzenden Mauern wie ein Gefängnishof wirkt.
Gute Staumöglichkeiten am Eingang (Schrank, Regale)
Parterre-Wohnung, also keine enge, hohe Treppe
