Hotel Description
So I stayed at this apartment on Cours de l’Intendance, and honestly – the location alone makes it worth talking about. You’re literally on one of Bordeaux’s main pedestrian streets, which sounds like it could be touristy hell, but it’s actually the opposite. This is where locals come to shop and grab coffee, especially in the mornings before the day tourists figure out where everything is.
The apartment itself is this spacious T4 setup that feels way more grown-up than most vacation rentals I’ve dealt with. I mean, you’ve got proper room to spread out – none of that cramped “European efficiency” nonsense. The windows face the cours, so there’s always something to watch if you’re having your morning coffee, but here’s the thing about the noise: it’s not bad at all since it’s pedestrian-only down there. You get the energy of people walking by, maybe some street musicians on weekends, but no traffic noise keeping you up. The building has that classic Bordeaux limestone thing going on, so you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual character instead of some generic hotel box.
What really sold me on the place is how it sits in the city. You know how sometimes you stay somewhere and spend half your time figuring out how to get anywhere interesting? Not here. Place de la Comédie is maybe a three-minute walk – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and the Grand Théâtre is right there too. But more importantly for day-to-day stuff, there’s a Monoprix practically next door for groceries, and if you want proper food shopping, the Marché des Capucins is close enough that you’ll actually use it instead of just talking about going. The tram stops at Place de la Comédie, so getting to the wine regions or even just across town is pretty straightforward. And look, I have to mention this because it matters – there are actual restaurants nearby that aren’t just tourist traps. The kind of places where you hear more French than English, which is always a good sign.
The apartment runs about what you’d expect for something this well-located and spacious, but the 9.6 rating isn’t just people being nice – it’s because the details are handled well. Good wifi, kitchen that actually works for cooking real meals, decent water pressure (you don’t realize how much this matters until you don’t have it). Check-in was smooth, no weird key-pickup drama or confusing instructions. It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, which honestly feels rare these days. If you’re planning to spend any real time in Bordeaux – not just a quick weekend but actually exploring the city and maybe using it as a base for wine country day trips – this is the sort of setup that makes the whole experience better instead of just giving you a place to sleep.

Lovely apartment in centre of Bordeaux. – Peter from United Kingdom – 19 July 2025 (10/10)
This was a lovely large spacious and comfortable apartment in the centre of the World Heritage site that is Bordeaux. It is 3 bedroomed, and with 4 of us, there was plenty of space to move around and have privacy. I am sure that this would also be the case if all the rooms were occupied. The kitchen was well equipped, and the croissants and bread delivered fresh each morning was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a city break in Bordeaux.

This is a fantastic apartment in a wonderful location. You feel like you actually live in this beautiful city instead of just visiting. Great sound proofing and comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms and the living, dining space is beautiful, stylish and spacious. We loved our short stay here and would very much like to come back some time. It’s also perfect for getting to restaurants and shopping.

The most wonderful stay in a sublime apartment in the perfect location – we couldn't ask for better! – Karina from Ireland – 31 March 2025 (10/10)
This was the most amazing apartment we have ever stayed in – we were three friends having a weekend away. Location is perfect – right in the middle of the main shopping/cultural area. Apartment was stunning – three fantastic bedrooms, two bathrooms with huge showers, lovely kitchen and the most fabulous sitting/dinning area with five large dual aspect windows, comfortable seating, smart TV playing Netflix/Spotify. We couldn't have asked for better! Honestly it totally exceeded all our expectations – we loved it. I had the most comfortable bed and the pillows were fantastic (usually a bug bear of mine and I have stayed in five star hotels all over the world). Best weekend in the most amazing place – I will definitely be back sooner rather than later!!
