Appartement t2 au chartrons Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Appartement t2 au chartrons, you immediately get that “local Bordeaux” feeling rather than the typical hotel vibe. It’s tucked right into Place Paul et Jean Paul Avisseau, which honestly feels more like stumbling into a neighborhood secret than checking into tourist accommodation. The building has that classic French apartment character — you know, the kind where you can actually picture locals living their daily lives around you. This three-star spot doesn’t try to be flashy, but there’s something genuinely appealing about how it blends into the Chartrons district.
The Chartrons Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in Chartrons, which means you’ve got the best of both worlds. The area used to be all about wine merchants back in the day, and you can still feel that history when you wander the streets. You’ll find yourself just minutes from the Garonne riverfront, where locals actually jog and hang out (not just tourists taking photos). The Saturday morning market at Marché des Chartrons is practically on your doorstep, and I mean that literally — it’s the kind of market where you’ll end up buying cheese you can’t pronounce and loving every bite.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well, especially if you’re traveling as a couple — which makes sense since couples consistently rate this place highly for romantic getaways. You get that T2 layout (that’s French for a one-bedroom with separate living area, if you’re not familiar), so there’s actual space to spread out your stuff and not feel cramped. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s functional enough to handle breakfast or a simple dinner with market finds. What struck me most was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile — like someone’s stylish friend let you borrow their apartment for the week.
Getting Around
Transportation from here is actually pretty smooth. The tram system connects you to central Bordeaux without much fuss, though honestly, you might find yourself walking more than expected because the neighborhood itself has plenty to offer. The wine bars along Cours Portal are within easy walking distance, and if you’re into that whole Bordeaux wine scene (which, let’s be real, is probably why you’re here), you’re perfectly positioned. Plus, recent guests keep mentioning how much they appreciate the location, which tells you something about how well-connected this spot really is.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps coming up in conversations with other travelers is how this place delivers that authentic Bordeaux experience without the tourist trap feeling. You’re staying where actual Bordelais live and work, shopping at their markets, drinking at their wine bars. The 7.4 rating reflects exactly what you’d expect — it’s not perfect, but it’s genuine and well-located. Couples especially seem to connect with the romantic potential of having your own little French apartment in one of Bordeaux’s most characterful districts. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
Hotels in Bordeaux offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring wine cellars and sommelier services to enhance the authentic regional experience.

Clean appartment. Easy to follow the check-in information on arrival. Good location, just on the outskirts of the centre in the Chartrons region. The tram service runs very often just around the corner which was cheap and easy to use. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
