Hotel Description
So I ended up staying at this T2 apartment in Chartrons – honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone, but the location totally won me over. You know that trendy part of Bordeaux where all the antique shops and wine bars line the streets? That’s exactly where you’ll be. Place Paul et Jean Paul Avisseau might sound fancy, but it’s actually this quiet little square that feels more residential than touristy, which I really appreciated after long days wandering around the city center.
The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – it’s got that typical French layout where rooms flow into each other, and honestly, the 3-star rating feels about right. Nothing’s going to blow you away, but everything works and it’s clean. What I loved was how the morning light comes through those tall windows (very Bordeaux, very French), and you can actually hear the city waking up without feeling like you’re sleeping on a busy street. The kitchen’s small but functional – I mean, you’re not going to be cooking elaborate meals, but making coffee and storing wine from the local shops? Absolutely. And speaking of wine shops, there’s this incredible little cave just around the corner that the locals actually use, not some tourist trap.
Here’s what really sold me on the area though – you’re walking distance from Cours Portal, where the Sunday market happens, and the tram stop is close enough that getting to Saint-Pierre or the main train station takes maybe fifteen minutes. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to European city centers), but there are spots if you’re patient. The Chartrons district has this cool mix of young professionals and older residents, so you get great little bistros that aren’t trying too hard alongside proper neighborhood bakeries. I’d grab my morning croissant from the boulangerie on Rue Notre-Dame – the owner’s been there forever and actually remembers regulars. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s genuine Bordeaux living without the inflated prices of staying right in the historic center. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually living somewhere rather than just passing through, this spot delivers on that completely.
Hotels in Bordeaux offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring wine cellars and sommelier services to enhance the authentic regional experience.

Clean appartment. Easy to follow the check-in information on arrival. Good location, just on the outskirts of the centre in the Chartrons region. The tram service runs very often just around the corner which was cheap and easy to use. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
