The apartment sits right on Rue Borie, which is basically this quiet residential street that somehow puts you within walking distance of everything that actually matters in Bordeaux. You know what I mean? It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re living in the city instead of just visiting it.

The Chartrons district itself is honestly perfect if you’re the type who likes to wander around and stumble onto cool stuff. I mean, this used to be where all the wine merchants hung out back in the day – and you can still feel that history when you’re walking down these streets with their gorgeous 18th-century buildings. The apartment’s got air conditioning (thank god, because July in Bordeaux is no joke), and while it’s not going to win any design awards, it’s got everything you actually need. The 7.3 rating makes sense – it’s solid, clean, and functional without being fancy. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the Garonne riverfront, where there’s this amazing Sunday market that locals actually go to – not just tourists buying overpriced postcards. And here’s something nobody tells you: if you walk down toward the water in the evening, you’ll hit this stretch where you can see the whole city lit up across the river. It’s one of those moments that makes you put your phone away and just… look, you know? Plus, you’re close enough to Cours Portal that you can grab groceries easily, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t hear drunk people singing at 2 AM. The tram’s right there too – honestly, I barely used it because walking through Chartrons never got old, but it’s nice knowing you can hop on and be in the city center in five minutes if the weather turns or you’re feeling lazy. For a 3-star place, it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the marble lobbies in the world.
