Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about appartement MONTAIGNE? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street in Chartrons where you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking – which is honestly part of its charm. The Chartrons district has this whole artsy, local vibe that most tourists miss because they’re all cramming into the old town. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the historic center is beautiful, but this neighborhood feels like actual Bordeaux.
The apartment itself is one of those places that makes you immediately start planning your next trip back. It’s got that perfect balance of being polished enough to feel special (we’re talking 4-star quality here) but not so precious that you’re afraid to actually live in it for a few days. The space feels genuinely French – not the sanitized hotel version of French, but like someone with really good taste actually lives there. And honestly, after staying in so many cookie-cutter places, that attention to detail just hits different. The whole setup works whether you’re here for a romantic weekend or you’ve got kids in tow – there’s enough room to spread out, which you’ll appreciate if you’re doing the whole European apartment experience for the first time.
What really sold me on this place though is the location situation. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk from the river, and the Saturday morning market on Cours de l’Intendance is close enough that you can grab fresh stuff for breakfast without it being a whole expedition. The tram line is right there too, so getting to the wine bars around Place du Parlement or out to the wine regions is actually pretty straightforward. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – just so you know – but there are spots if you’re patient. The street itself stays pretty quiet at night, which was a pleasant surprise given how central you are. I stayed here in late spring and honestly spent most evenings just wandering around the neighborhood, discovering little wine bars and bistros that don’t show up in guidebooks. That 9.3 rating makes total sense when you actually experience how thoughtfully everything’s been put together – from the way they handle check-in to those little touches that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere special rather than just passing through.

Location was perfect for us, who enjoy city walking a lot.The riverwalk, Hotel de ville, Community park are 10-15 min walk. Public transport-5 min.
We rented a car for a couple of days-was easy to park on the street.
Sandra is a very responsive host and resolved the problems we had in timely matter.
What could be improved: The TV in the bedroom instead being in the living room. The hostesses were very helpful and charming. – Caroline from Canada – 12 March 2024 (10/10)
The property has a good location close to a beautiful park and shopping. The apartment had everything we needed, we thoroughly appreciated the stay and operators.
What could be improved: The closet door is hard to move.Exceptional – Mian from United Kingdom – 1 November 2023 (10/10)

A great apartment for a longer stay in Bordeaux. – Nick from Australia – 18 June 2023 (10/10)
The modern comfortable apartment had everything we needed for a three day stay, washing machine, properly equiped kitchen and good air conditioning. There was a garage for us to park our bicycles. It is nice quiet area only a short walk to the tram stop or pleasant walk into old town.
A very comfortable well fitted out apartment. – Honnie from Australia – 17 June 2023 (9/10)
It was a very practical, modern, easy place to stay. The hosts provided us with juice, milk etc which was very handy for breakfast. we only stayed for one night, but it would definitely suit as a longer stay
What could be improved: parking is tight, but that is to be expected in a large busy city.Exceptional – Cara from Ireland – 28 August 2022 (10/10)
Well laid out although small. Spotless. Water and milk awaiting us. On-street parking (paid) right outside. Air Conditioning
What could be improved: beds a bit squishy per other reviews. It was fine for one night.Clean and comfortable. – Irene from Canada – 20 September 2024 (9/10)
Appartment was clean. Kitchen and bathroom modern. Very quiet street. Free parking area about 6 blocks away. Street parking free from around 7 pm to 9 am. There was a washing machine though no dryer. Selection of nespresso pods, crackers, candies was nice. Water, orange juice and yogurt were in the fridge! Excellent little restaurant Le Mandron 4 blocks away. Convenient to many sights.stayed 2 nights. 2 people. (4 would mean 2 in the kitchen on a sofabed)
What could be improved: Occasionally a musty scent was noticed from the bathroom. Not sure if from drains? Bit of dark mold in 2 corners of shower.Great clean apartment but the check in notifications could be improved – Odaryna from Ukraine – 5 July 2024 (8/10)
The property was nice and clean. The hostess helped us with the cases when we couldn’t open the door (it’s not so obvious there). We did like a lot that we had small breakfast in the kitchen. The coffee machine and everything worked in the kitchen perfectly. The bed was comfortable. The AC worked perfectly.
What could be improved: The hostess forgot about us and didn’t send any information about the check in. I needed to write to her on WhatsApp and she asked even my name so she didn’t try to notify us about the check-in at all. After some period of time she responded and explained how to get to the property. What if we arrived earlier? (It was 7pm)
