You know what caught me off guard about this apartment? The name is pretty bland – “Appartement idéalement situé” basically just means “ideally located apartment” – but honestly, they weren’t kidding about the location part. I mean, Rue Roturier sits right in the heart of Bastide, which is this sort of up-and-coming neighborhood that most tourists completely miss because they get stuck wandering around the old town on the other side of the Garonne.

Here’s the thing about staying in Bastide – you’re literally a five-minute tram ride from all the main Bordeaux action, but you get to experience what the city actually feels like when you peel back the tourist layer. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you settle in because the owner clearly gets the details right. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that three-star places often nail better than fancier hotels (you know how those can feel sterile sometimes). Walking around the neighborhood, you’ll hit the Saturday market at Marché des Capucins – which, okay, technically that’s across the river but it’s close enough that locals from this area shop there regularly. The real gem though is just wandering these quieter Bastide streets in the evening when the light hits those typical Bordeaux stone buildings just right.

What I really appreciated was the practical stuff nobody warns you about. Parking around here isn’t the nightmare it is in central Bordeaux, and you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds that can make the quays feel like a theme park during peak season. The tram stop is close enough that you can easily hop over to Place de la Victoire or the shopping district, but far enough that you’re not hearing the rumble all night. Actually, the whole area gets pretty peaceful after dinner time – I’d sit by the window with a bottle of local wine (there’s a decent cave à vin about two blocks away) and just watch the neighborhood wind down. The only minor thing I’d mention is that some of the nearby streets can feel a bit quiet if you’re used to constant city buzz, but honestly, that was part of the charm for me. It felt like staying in a real Bordeaux neighborhood rather than a postcard version of one.

  The location is great and modern. There is a metro station and several shops nearby. The city center is really quick to reach by metro. Mickael is extremely friendly and even offered to help us with a problem I had with my car.

  Nuovo appartamento con domotica degli accessori. Buona posizione. Tutto nuovo. Grande doccia. Caffè per tutti e macchina espresso in cialde. The e tutto l’occorrente per cucinare in proprio. Padrone gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi necessità.

  Nous avons trouvé le logement et récupérer les clés avec facilité. Appartement tel que décrit sur l'annonce, calme et agréable.
  Proche du tram pour se rendre au cœur de Bordeaux, sans changement.
  Petite attention à notre arrivée : les tasses de café étaient sorties avec les dosettes prêtent à être utilisées.
  Les échanges avec le propriétaire ont été agréables et sympathiques.

  El apartamento es tal cual como en las fotos, muy acogedor. La ubicación es perfecta ya que la parada de tranvía está a 4minutos andando y te deja en pleno centro. El entorno es tranquilo con comercios cercanos y el parking es gratuito en las inmediaciones.
  
  What could be improved: Me pareció estupendo. Por poner alguna mejora, haría falta mas menaje de cocina, alguna cachuela, cuencos..
