It’s this quiet little side street that feels properly residential, not touristy at all, but you’re honestly just a few minutes’ walk from Gare Saint-Jean. I mean, when they say “proche gare,” they’re not kidding around.

The apartment itself has that lived-in feeling that’s way better than those sterile hotel boxes. It’s a proper one-bedroom setup where you can actually spread out your stuff without tripping over suitcases every five minutes. The kitchen’s small but functional – I’m talking real plates and decent coffee situation, not those sad little hotel kettles. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re in the city center. Those thick French walls do their job, and being tucked away on that little side street means you’re not dealing with late-night foot traffic or delivery trucks at dawn. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need because there are proper blackout curtains (honestly a game-changer if you’re jet-lagged) and the wifi doesn’t crap out every ten minutes like some places.

Location-wise, this is where it gets interesting – you’re in Bordeaux Sud, which puts you in this sweet spot where locals actually live and work. There’s a decent boulangerie about two blocks down, and if you walk maybe ten minutes toward the Garonne, you hit some genuinely good bistros that aren’t charging tourist prices. The tram connections from the train station are solid, so getting into the historic center or out to the wine regions is pretty straightforward. I’d say the only minor thing is that grocery runs require a bit of walking – there’s no Monoprix right around the corner – but honestly, that’s part of what keeps the neighborhood feeling authentic rather than all touristy and sanitized. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on the basics really well without trying to be fancy about it. Four stars feels right – it’s comfortable and thoughtfully set up, but you’re not paying for marble bathrooms or concierge service you probably don’t need anyway.

  The property is really comfortable. It’s located on the ground floor and we could easily bring the stroller. It had all facilities such as washing machine, microwave and iron. It was a perfect place for us.

  Great location, 10 min walk to bus/tram stop and main train station. Host was very nice. Place looks like the photos. There’s few nice restaurants in the area as well.
  Overall it was a great stay and I would def come back.

  Modern furnished accommodation with all mod cons. Coffee pods left for our use. Good location next to rail station but very quiet. Secure with window bars and shutters.

  The flat is located very close to the train station and also tram/bus stops so you can get anywhere around the town or even different regions of France very quickly. It is also well furnished, well equipped, clean and provides enough comfort. The host Rebecca is lovely and she assisted us when we needed it. Overall a great place to stay in Bordeaux which I highly recommend.
