Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Appartement avec cour” on Rue Goya, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the understated places surprise you the most. This little 3-star spot sits right in Bordeaux’s city center, and I mean *right* in it – you’re basically a 5-minute walk from Place Gambetta, which is perfect because that’s where all the good cafés are anyway.

The apartment itself has this lovely little courtyard (hence the name, obviously), and it’s actually one of those details that makes all the difference. I stayed there during late spring, and honestly, having that quiet outdoor space to drink coffee in the morning while the city was waking up? Pure gold. The building’s got that classic Bordeaux stone facade thing going on – you know, the kind that looks almost golden when the afternoon light hits it just right. Inside, it’s clean and functional without trying too hard to be trendy. The 8.3 rating makes total sense because it delivers exactly what it promises, no more, no less.

What I really appreciated was how genuinely local the area feels. Sure, you’re in the center, but Rue Goya isn’t one of those tourist-packed streets where every other storefront is selling overpriced souvenirs. There’s a small boulangerie about two blocks down that locals actually use (I could tell because everyone was speaking rapid French and looked slightly annoyed when I fumbled through my order). The tram’s super close too – honestly, you can hear it occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything disruptive. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, I won’t lie, but there are paid spots nearby and honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need your car much anyway. The whole Triangle d’Or shopping area is walkable from here, and if you’re into wine (I mean, you’re in Bordeaux, so…), there are some seriously good wine bars within stumbling distance. What struck me most was how the place manages to feel residential rather than hotel-y – maybe it’s the courtyard, or maybe it’s just that the building fits so naturally into the streetscape. Either way, it’s the kind of spot where you can actually imagine living like a local for a few days, grabbing groceries at the market on Cours Victor Hugo and pretending you’re not just another tourist.

Hotels in Bordeaux offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring wine cellars and sommelier services to enhance the authentic regional experience.

Reviews

  • Parfait pour un couple visitant Bordeaux – Jean-michel from France – 30 December 2024 (8/10)

  • Je recommande pour un week end – Julie from France – 11 May 2025 (7/10)

Appartement confortable et bien situé. Calme. L accès à la cour se fait par la chambre et la fenêtre que l on voit est la seule et donne sur la rue.

What could be improved: Quelques problèmes de chauffage et de chauffe eau (douche froide) réglés par la propriétaire, réactive

  • Superb – Stéphane from France – 20 October 2024 (9/10)
