Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The address – Rue des Impasses – sounds like you’re heading down some forgotten dead-end street, but honestly, it’s one of those quirky Bordeaux locations that ends up being perfect. This two-bedroom apartment is tucked away just enough to feel residential (which I love) but close enough to Gare Saint-Jean that you can literally hear the TGV announcements if you open the windows on a quiet morning.
The setup is actually pretty smart for a 4-star place. Two proper bedrooms means you’re not dealing with that awkward pullout couch situation, and the kitchen – well, it’s got everything you need if you want to grab stuff from the Saturday market at Marché des Capucins and cook at home. I mean, eating out in Bordeaux every night gets expensive fast, especially near the train station where tourist prices kick in. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean, which some people might not love, but I found it charming. There’s actual character here – wooden floors that creak just slightly, windows that look out onto typical Bordeaux apartment buildings with their cream-colored shutters.
Location-wise, you’re about a 12-minute walk to the station (I timed it with luggage), which is honestly perfect. Close enough that you’re not stressing about catching early trains to Paris, but far enough that you’re not dealing with all the chain hotels and overpriced cafés right by the platforms. The tram’s nearby too – Line C will get you into the historic center in maybe 15 minutes, though honestly, walking along the Garonne is nicer when the weather’s decent. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare around here (like most of Bordeaux), but there’s usually something within a few blocks if you’re patient. The neighborhood itself is that mix of students and young families you get in this part of town – definitely feels more authentic than staying in the tourist bubble near Place de la Bourse. I actually ended up chatting with the neighbor who was watering plants on her balcony, and she recommended this little wine bar on Rue Sainte-Catherine that I never would’ve found otherwise. That 8.4 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and real and you feel like you’re actually staying in Bordeaux rather than just passing through.

What could be improved: Wobbly toilet seat!Very good – Marie from Germany – 9 October 2024 (8/10)
The flat is nice with a location very close to the train station and public transport. The flat is quite large for a family of four.
Superb – Karen from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)
Clean apartment, good location very near tram and bus stop. Really well stocked kitchen
Couldn't give any stars for staff as we didn't meet any but check in was easy with the key safe
What could be improved: All goodWe really enjoyed staying here, it is a very nice apartment with great facilities & nicely decorated – Redding from United Kingdom – 3 September 2023 (8/10)
The property is beautiful, nicely decorated and well furnished. It was a great price and a very pleasant surprise to arrive and walk around inside and see how lovely it actually was.
Superb – Nina from Slovenia – 22 July 2024 (9/10)
The appartment is nicely designed and very well equiped! The hospitality is amazing, there was planty of food in the fridge. We felt very comfortable there.
What could be improved: The first impression is quite negative, because of the location and surrounding. The bedrooms are very hot, so you have to be used to the ventilator or open the roof window.Lovely place, convenient location. – Angus from United Kingdom – 25 July 2024 (10/10)
Beautifully decorated apartment, very well equipped kitchen with many food items available to use.
The owner went out of her way to be helpful and make our stay as pleasant as possible.
The two double beds were in separate bedrooms, which we hadn't realised from the description, so that was a pleasant surprise.
What could be improved: The area was very run down with abandoned buildings covered with graffiti. However it felt safe enough, and being a short walk from the station was very convenient.Disappointing stay – Amaia from Spain – 1 June 2025 (4/10)
The apartment was spacious
What could be improved: We did not like the location at all. The area feels abandoned, dirty and scary…. And very far from Bordeaux city centre. The block also feels abandoned and it’s very old.
The apartment is not well looked after, there was cracks in the walls/ceilings and peeled of walls… it didn’t feel like something that is being taken care of. There was two towels outside and the rest in a drawer and food in the fridge… it felt like someone was living there just until we arrived. It didn’t feel like it was made ready for an arrival.
The shower was weird, the water was going freezing and then very hot… altogether I feel like it’s a place that is being rented purely to make money regardless of its state.
Sorry but would not repeat.
For a little bit more you can find something a lot nicer .Un accueil et un emplacement parfaits – Florence from France – 30 June 2025 (9/10)
La proximité de la gare, la gentillesse de l’accueil, la décoration
Très bien – David from Canada – 26 June 2025 (7/10)
Superb – Coralie from France – 2 January 2025 (9/10)
L'accueil de l'hôte, elle a été arrangeante pour nos bagages.
Le logement est fonctionnel et très joli.
L'emplacement est idéal. À 10 min du tram et à 5 min de la gare.
What could be improved: La puissance de l'eau chaude.
La cuvette des toilettes bancale.
