Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to 48 Rue Ausone, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s just this quiet residential street tucked behind the main tourist drag. But that’s actually what makes this two-bedroom apartment so perfect for Bordeaux. You’re literally in the hyper-centre (they weren’t kidding about that name), which means you can stumble to Place de la Bourse for sunrise photos without dealing with tram schedules, but you’re not getting the constant noise of drunk tourists at 2 AM either.
The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place – I mean that in the best way possible. It’s got this lived-in comfort that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. The balcon they mention? It’s small but actually faces the right direction to catch morning light, and you can people-watch the locals heading to the boulangerie around the corner. What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so central – Rue Ausone has this weird acoustic thing where it blocks most of the city noise. The two bedrooms are properly separated too, which is clutch if you’re traveling with friends who have different sleep schedules.
You know what surprised me most? The kitchen actually works. I’ve stayed in plenty of European apartments where the “kitchenette” is basically decorative, but here you can legitimately cook. There’s a Monoprix about three minutes away, and – this is the kind of local intel that matters – there’s this incredible fromagerie on Rue des Remparts that the apartment owner told me about. Walking distance to everything that matters: the wine bars along Quai de la Douane, the Saturday market at Marché des Capucins, even the tram stop at Hôtel de Ville if you want to venture out to the wine regions. Parking is… well, it’s Bordeaux city center, so forget about it. But honestly, once you’re there, you won’t need a car anyway. The 8.3 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be fancy, just genuinely useful for people who want to experience Bordeaux like they live there for a few days.
Apartments in Bordeaux provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at neighborhood markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Aquitaine region.

Reviews
Apartment is like new and in a good location. Just read all the fine print re cleaning and deposit. – Brad from Australia – 12 June 2025 (6/10)
Great location – close to everything but very quiet at night. The apartment has been renovated recently and is like new – spotless. Friendly host met us.
What could be improved: They require a deposit prior which I wasn't aware of at the time of booking. After more than a week still no response on the return.
Seems they have a separate cleaning fee which they use the deposit agency top collect. Very confusing and unnecessary – just put it in the price and pay once. Poor communication.Aside from initial issues with the agency, we had a great trip and location of property was excellent for what we needed – Charlie from United Kingdom – 16 January 2025 (6/10)
The location is excellent for accessing the old town with good close-by amenities. It’s tucked away down a side street so it’s quiet in the evenings and overall a very comfortable apartment with good heating.
What could be improved: The agent didn’t turn up and we had to wait outside in the rain for 1.5hrs. The additional fees aside from the cleaning fee, are not clear when booking and are not clearly stated within the booking, com process, they only show on the agents booking system. The agency also relies on you using their booking system entirely and WhatsApp (which they never responded to) and not via booking.com which is confusing and caused unnecessary delays in us being able to access the property at the time that was confirmed.
There is minimal kitchen utensils/crockery and overall could do with a bit of a better clean (I.e toilet filter and stains on sofa).Appartement au centre de Bordeaux – Christine from France – 19 July 2025 (8/10)

Plein centre mais Appartement à rafraîchir – Patrick from France – 5 January 2025 (7/10)
Emplacement parfaitement idéal pour découvrir le centre ville de Bordeaux
What could be improved: Pas suffisamment de vaisselle.
Appartement moyennement propre qui nécessiterait d'être rafraîchi.
La réservation booking n'inclut pas de frais de services et ménage mais une fois la réservation confirmée, on est cependant obligé de les régler.Good – Yolanda from Spain – 25 December 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: No tenía ascensor (aunque ya lo sabíamos).
