You know what really caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to 10 Rue Courbin, you’re literally around the corner from the Grand Théâtre – I mean, you can practically hear the street musicians warming up before evening performances. The Appart de Charme lives up to its name in that understated French way, where everything looks effortlessly elegant but you know someone put serious thought into every detail.

The apartment itself feels like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste. I’m talking exposed stone walls that actually add character (not the fake rustic stuff you see everywhere), and windows that frame the narrow street perfectly. Honestly, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you settle in – it’s those little touches that get you. The kitchen is actually functional, not just for show, which matters if you hit the Marché des Capucins early and want to prepare something fresh. The bed situation is solid too, none of that European twin-bed-pushed-together nonsense.

What really sold me on the location was realizing I could walk to Place de la Bourse in about eight minutes, but I was tucked away enough that the street stayed quiet after the dinner crowds dispersed. Rue Courbin isn’t one of those tourist thoroughfares, so you get a genuine feel for how locals move through the city center. Parking is… well, it’s Bordeaux city center, so forget about that unless you enjoy circling narrow streets for an hour. But honestly, once you’re here, everything worth seeing is walkable anyway. The tram stops at Grand Théâtre are right there if you need to venture out to the wine regions or hit the newer districts. I found myself grabbing morning coffee at the little café on Cours de l’Intendance, then spending afternoons exploring the antique shops that cluster around this neighborhood – stuff you’d never find if you stayed out by the airport hotels. Three stars might seem modest, but this is the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because it just feels right.

  Location location location!
  Well equipped kitchen for cooking for extended stays. Great communication. Quiet outside at night despite closeness to bars and restaurants. Close to tram and all the attractions.
  
  What could be improved: No air conditioning. The supplied fan was large and powerful, but a tad loud at night for sleeping if hot outside (very minor issue)… otherwise everything perfect.

  Centrally located apartment close to many restaurants and attractions. Apartment was clean and spacious. Well appointed kitchen. Occasional noise but not disturbing. All our interactions with the hosts were through email/WhatsApp but Laurence was always quick to answer sny queries and was most accomodating.
