Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound like some fancy apartment complex, but honestly, it’s more like stumbling into someone’s really well-designed pied-à-terre in one of Bordeaux’s quieter neighborhoods. I mean, Passage Tourney isn’t exactly where tourists usually end up – it’s tucked away in the Nansouty Saint-Genes area, which locals know as that sweet spot between the university district and the more touristy parts of town.
The jacuzzi is definitely the star here, and not in a cheesy hotel way. It’s actually integrated into the space thoughtfully – you can soak while looking out at the typical Bordeaux architecture through decent-sized windows. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and a serious relaxation habit. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – furniture that’s clearly been chosen for actual use, not just Instagram shots. I stayed there during a pretty busy weekend in September, and while you can hear some street noise during the day (it’s still the city, after all), evenings get surprisingly quiet since it’s mostly residential around there.
Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites won’t tell you – you’re about a fifteen-minute tram ride from Place de la Bourse, but you’re also walking distance from some genuinely great neighborhood spots. There’s this little bakery on Rue Nansouty that does incredible pain au chocolat, and honestly, starting your morning there beats fighting crowds at the tourist places downtown. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, and the three-star classification is probably about right. What you’re getting is authentic Bordeaux living with that jacuzzi bonus that transforms a regular evening into something actually memorable. The check-in was straightforward (though you’ll want to coordinate timing since it’s not a traditional hotel setup), and parking nearby is doable if you’re patient. I’d definitely go back, especially if I wanted to experience Bordeaux more like someone who actually lives there rather than just hitting the major sights.
Apartments in Bordeaux provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at neighborhood markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Aquitaine region.
