You know what struck me first about this place? The name is basically the address – 444 Tourny – which honestly makes it super easy to find on Allée de Tourny. And thank god for that elevator, because I mean, hauling luggage up French staircases is nobody’s idea of fun. The parking situation is actually legit here, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Bordeaux’s city center, you’ll understand why that’s worth mentioning right up front.

The location is pretty much everything – you’re right in the heart of things on one of Bordeaux’s most elegant streets. Allée de Tourny has this beautiful tree-lined vibe, and you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Place Gambetta and all those gorgeous 18th-century buildings. I loved that you could grab morning coffee at one of the nearby cafés and actually feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. The two-bedroom setup works really well if you’re traveling with family or friends – there’s enough space that you’re not stepping on each other, but it still feels cozy rather than like some sterile corporate rental.

Honestly, this isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything (it’s a solid 3-star, and the 7.6 rating feels about right), but what it does, it does well. The elevator might seem like a small thing until you’re dealing with heavy bags after a long travel day. The building itself has that classic Bordeaux character – you know, those beautiful stone facades that make you feel like you’re in a movie. I will say the street can get a bit lively in the evenings since you’re so central, but it’s more “charming city sounds” than “keeping you awake all night” noise. During the day, you’re perfectly positioned to explore the shopping district or wander down toward the Garonne – actually, the river walks are maybe ten minutes on foot, which is pretty sweet. The whole Bordeaux tram system is super accessible from here too, so getting out to the wine regions or other parts of the city is straightforward. It’s one of those places where the location really does most of the heavy lifting, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  Location was excellent and property was nice and quiet. Large seating area and beds were clean with quality linen.
  
  What could be improved: Table and chairs in 'outside' area very dirty and not good quality, and therefore unable to use during our stay. Disappointing as this area looked particularly attractive in the photo, and we were looking forward to using this space.

  What could be improved: That there is no proper shower as the option in the bath was not workable as a shower even though they advertised a shower. The property could have been cleaner. An unexpected large security deposit was a surprise.
